 Check and Storage of Cement

* Types of cement in the market:-

(a) O.P.C  =  Ordinary Portland Cement

Grade  =  33, 43, 53

33 = It means ( in 28 days ), the compressive strength will be 33 N/mm^2.

(b) P.P.V  =  Pozzoland Portland Cement / Plain Cement

1 bag cement = 50 kg.

The Civil IQ

* Test of Cement

(1). It most be soft.

(2). After put the hand in cement bag, it should be a litle hot.

(3). After spreading a small amount of cement in water, it must be float on the water surface.

(4). A part of cement powder on the iron sheet. After heating the iron sheet, if color of cement is same , then cement is good.

* Storage 

If a bag of cement is fresh

       strength reduce 0%.

     Week / Year   -   Cement bag

        1  /  2019

        2  /  .. 20

        3  /  .. 21 etc.

* How and where to storage of cement

(a) Storage house must be concreted and dried.

(b) No any windows, ventilators and any type of hole except door.

(c) Cement bag should not touched with the wall.

(d) The layer of bags should maximum 10 and touched with each other.

(e) On the construction site when we have not any cement storage house we can one thing

                   First place the plastics on the dry surface, then place the wood, and then place the cement bags and after that place the plastics bags on them or covered them.
